The Illusionist

Our assignment was to create a movie opening, this is my take on the
“The Illusionist”. I thought focusing on the orange tree theme throughout the piece would be an interesting as it is prevalent in the movie.

I used the Lens blur effect because the magician is always having you focus on one hand while he does the trick in the other; the prestige. The soft edges hint back to the 1900’s style of film as does the sepia tone. The background, textures, and style refer to the posters of the time and the title slide most reflects this. While the movie is called “The Illusionist” I added the magician’s name “Eisenheim” to it as if it was a poster to one of his shows.

Music rights belong to Philip Glass and to the movie, “The Illusionist”.
